My reasoning behind creating LUNC & Cosmos Friends discord is to serve as a phonebook, a list of contacts builders can access across the IBC ecosystem.
Finding contacts is one of the hardest hurdles for any business. Financing and growth opportunities often come from contacts. Having a discord server where builders can join and communicate will facilitate growth for the entire Cosmos. Because LUNC just re-joined Cosmos, this will also help consolidate its position through shared utility.
Think about it this way, if you just started and have no idea who to contact, who are the builders in that network, or who can help fund your project, you will struggle to launch your business. This is an added hurdle to an already difficult process.
My aim is to create a grounding and welcoming environment where new connections can take place, ideas can form, and help grow the usage in Cosmos and LUNC.
If you don’t know who to contact or what they are doing, you are “toast”. Twitter and GitHub are great, but they are not an accurate representation of the specific teams and projects. Gatekeeping contacts is one of the most detrimental factors in business, this prevents growth and promotes fear.
This structure helps boost the existing values of collaboration within IBC.
